The Original Bendable Coir Pole is an award-winning plant support system handcrafted with premium coir rope, thinner, more pliable, and more versatile than a traditional moss pole. Bend it into a curve, an arch, a spiral, or any shape your plant demands, then reshape it again as your plant grows. No tools, no complicated setup, no compromises.

What sets the Bendable Coir Pole apart from the traditional Bendable Moss Pole is that it's thinner and more pliable, making it the ultimate support for a wide variety of plant sizes and shapes. If you have smaller plants, trailing vines, or plants in tighter pots where a full moss pole would be too bulky — this is the pole for them.

The coir outer layer is sourced from the Manila Hemp plant, a close relative of the banana tree native to the Philippines — 100% natural, durable, flexible, and water resistant. It won't rot, won't rust, and won't harm your roots.

The 30" size include a solid granite stone anti-lean base for maximum pot stability as your plant climbs taller. Reusable plant tape is included with every size so you can start training your plant immediately out of the box.

Pair it with Forbidden Cereal soilless aroid potting mix during repotting for the best possible root environment, and use the Mossify Mistr to keep humidity levels up around your climbing plant as it establishes.

Perfect for:

  • Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos, Epipremnum, Scindapsus, Hoya, Syngonium
  • Smaller or younger plants not yet ready for a full moss pole
  • Trailing and vining plants that need directional guidance
  • Tight pots and compact plant arrangements where a thicker pole won't fit
  • Creative shaping — arches, spirals, curves, canopies

Which plants thrive on the Bendable Coir Pole™?

The coir pole is specifically designed for plants that need directional guidance and flexible support — particularly vining, trailing, and smaller climbing species that don't yet have the aerial root mass to grip a full moss pole. The slim 15mm profile fits comfortably in any pot size without crowding the root zone, and the Manila rope texture gives vines something natural to wrap around as they grow.

Best suited for:

Vining aroids: Pothos (all varieties), Epipremnum, Scindapsus, Syngonium — these plants respond immediately to a vertical support and will begin directional climbing within weeks of installation.

Monstera & Philodendron: Younger plants or smaller varieties like Philodendron Brasil, Heartleaf Philodendron, or Monstera adansonii that aren't yet large enough to warrant the thicker Original Moss Pole.

Hoya: The flexible nature of the coir pole is ideal for training Hoya along curves and arches — encouraging the trailing vine behavior these plants prefer while keeping growth controlled and display-worthy.

Trailing plants needing redirection: English Ivy, Tradescantia, and similar trailers can be trained upward or along a shaped coir pole to create structured, sculptural displays.

Coir vs. Moss Pole — which should you choose?

The coir pole is thinner (15mm vs. 41mm on the Original Moss Pole), more pliable, and better for smaller plants or tighter pots. It does not have a moss outer layer, so it won't retain moisture or encourage aerial root attachment the way a moss pole does — but it excels at directional training and creative shaping for vining plants. If your plant has active aerial roots looking for a moist surface to grip, the Mossify Original Bendable Moss Pole is the better choice. If your plant is a viner that needs guidance and structure, the coir pole is ideal.

Setting Up Your Bendable Coir Pole

  1. Unbox the pole and unwrap the reusable plant tape — set it aside
  2. Bend and shape the pole into your desired form before inserting — curves, arches, and spirals all work well
  3. Place the granite stone base at the bottom of your pot before adding soil, then insert the pole through the base
  4. Backfill with potting mix around the base to anchor the pole securely
  5. Use the included reusable plant tape to begin attaching vines and stems to the pole

Training Your Plant

  • Gently wrap vining stems around the pole and secure loosely with plant tape — never tie tightly enough to restrict growth
  • As your plant grows, continue guiding new growth along the pole and reshape the pole if needed
  • The coir texture will naturally encourage stems and vines to grip and self-attach over time
  • For best results, install during repotting so the root ball grows around the base naturally

Reshaping Over Time

  • The galvanized steel inner frame holds its shape but remains bendable — you can reshape at any time without tools
  • If your plant has grown significantly in one direction, gradually reshape the pole over several weeks rather than bending aggressively at once

Maintenance

  • No watering or misting required — the Manila coir outer layer is water-resistant and does not need to stay moist
  • Wipe down with a damp cloth if dust accumulates
  • The galvanized steel frame is rust-resistant and plant-safe for long-term use
  • Pole thickness: 0.6 inches / 15mm
  • Outer layer: Premium Manila coir rope
  • Frame material: Galvanized steel — rust-resistant, plant-safe
  • Base: Solid granite stone anti-lean base 4" long x 2.25" wide x 0.9" thick
  • Reusable plant tape: 30" 2 feet included
